Join Jo for a cosy Winter Mini Retreat afternoon filled with all the good things – yoga asana, pranayama, meditation and deep relaxation – in the Hills District, Brisbane.

Kakowan Community Facility at Bunya is set amongst beautiful native trees, gardens and is a haven for birdlife. Only a stone’s throw from suburbia yet feels like a world away.

Park with ease and take time to pause, breathe fresh air and observe nature’s beauty before the retreat kicks off with a gentle Hatha Yoga class with this beautiful view…

Break for a delicious, light afternoon tea followed by a Restorative Yoga practice. Supported with props (bolster, blocks, blanket, strap), you’ll rest in poses for 5 to 10 minutes each. Practising asana in this way can help release stored emotions and dissolve mental and physical tension.

The afternoon will conclude with a 30 minute guided Yoga Nidra practice (equivalent in benefit to 2 hours’ good sleep). This conscious deep rest is helpful for inducing complete mental, physical and emotional relaxation.

Most likely, you’ll then have only a short drive home, so those chilled out feelings will linger for longer.

Kakowan has heating, so the room will be set to a comfortable temperature for this Winter experience. To maximise your comfort, wear layers of clothes you can move easily in.

On receipt of payment, Jo will send a confirmation and, if it’s your first time joining a Jo Moloney Yoga class/event, send you a Health Questionnaire for completion and return prior to participating.

Book with confidence – if the event is unable to proceed due to restriction of movement/gathering and/or lockdown, your payment will be refunded in full.

For personal inability to attend, unfortunately no refund can be given. However, if something unforeseen occurs and you’re unable to attend, send a friend! Please advise Jo as soon as possible in this instance. For your own and others’ wellbeing, please do not attend if you are unwell in any way.

BRING:

water bottle
2 clean pillow cases – to cover one of Jo’s bolsters if borrowing
light blanket, wrap/shawl – to cover you!
any other props you like to use eg eye pillow, cushion

yoga mat
bolster
blanket (for propping/support)
yoga strap (or a long belt or similar)
2 yoga blocks

^All provided props will be sanitised ready for your use. Sanitising wipes will be provided for you to wipe down mats and blocks after use.
